About Store Log

Store Log is an independent app by Tomas Maillo for discovering Apple locations and recording your visits. Tomas is responsible for the personal information described here. This policy covers the app and this website. Store Log is not affiliated with Apple.

What we collect, and why

When you sign in with Apple, we receive an account identifier and the email address Apple provides, which may be a private relay address. We store your username, optional profile photo and sign-in information to create and secure your account.

We store the visits, dates, store photos, selfies and imported images you choose to share. These power your visit history, profile and progress. We also store blocks, reports and temporary request-limit records to operate and protect the service.

The app does not use advertising trackers or sell your personal information.

Location and permissions

Location is optional. It helps show nearby places and, when you take visit photos, calculate your distance from a location. Capture coordinates are sent to our server for that calculation; the post stores the distance, accuracy and capture time, rather than those exact coordinates. A visit still identifies the specific place you visited.

Nearby-alert location checks happen on your device. We save each signed-in device’s last reported Always-location permission status and its update time. You can change camera, location and notification permissions in iOS Settings.

Photos are re-encoded before upload to remove their original metadata. If you import a past-visit photo, its date can be used for the visit date you review and save.

What other people can see

Your username, profile, progress, visits and posted photos are visible to other signed-in users, subject to account blocking. Shared visits include their location, dates and any captured distance and accuracy. There is no private-account or private-post setting.

Your email and sign-in credentials are not shown on your profile. Profile photos use public image links, so anyone with that link may view the image. Blocking does not undo screenshots or copies someone has already made.

Services that help run the app

Convex hosts our account data, visits and uploaded images. Apple provides sign-in, maps and TestFlight distribution. These providers process information needed to deliver their services, which may include technical connection data. During the beta, Apple may share crash information and feedback you submit through TestFlight with us.

Read more in Convex’s privacy policy and Apple’s privacy policy. This webpage adds no analytics, advertising scripts or cookies; its hosting service may process connection logs to deliver and secure it.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your account and published visits remain until you remove them. Deleting or replacing a visit removes its stored photos. Uploaded photos that are never attached to a post expire after one day and are removed by scheduled cleanup.

To delete your account, open Settings → Delete account in Store Log. This removes your account, posts, uploaded images, sessions and associated account records from the active app database, and revokes the Apple sign-in token. Provider backups and operational logs may follow separate retention schedules.

The app keeps preferences, caches and pending uploads on your device. Pending uploads can remain after sign-out so you can retry with the same account. Account deletion also clears that account’s pending uploads and visit cache on the device used to delete it.

Your choices

You can remove visits, change your profile photo, block accounts and delete your account in the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, obtain a copy of or request deletion of your information, restrict or object to processing, and complain to your local data-protection authority.

We’ll update this page when our data practices change.
